Local Advertising
It has been shown that often times advertising for services such as a dental practice, is most effective in local mediums (i.e. the local town journal, or radio station). Because these things are local, they are given more credibility by the general public who have a level of trust in their everyday paper that they may not have in, for example, USA Today. Local advertising is also almost always cheaper than large national campaigns. Most dental practices would only be competing to pull patients from the local area anyway.
Local Press Releases
Press releases highlight an event or for example a new technology that a dental practice may be offering to better the health of their patients. These articles can generate a lot of local attention because they do not appear to be an advertisement, rather they seem to be a third party speaking positively about your practice, and thus have more credibility.
